Beyond the Canvas

Painting is only one language I speak. I have never had any formal training.  Long before I picked up a brush, I was already listening to a world most people never learn to hear.

I have seen light beings and orbs. I have seen peoples auras, and have felt the presence of nature spirits,  Once, I was swept into a vortex of light so vast and so full of unconditional love that language still fails to hold it properly. I traveled deep into that light, further than most return from, until I was told, gently but unmistakably, that I had to go back. My body would not survive if I stayed.

I came back. And I have spent most of my life since desiring a way to comunicate what I knew ever since I was a child.  My art is not decoration. It is a record — one small facet of a mind I’ve come to understand is far less limited than I was ever taught to believe. Every painting is an attempt to carry a little of that other world back across the threshold, intact enough that someone else might recognize it too.

I know I am not alone in this. Countless others know what I know.   My art is for you, if that’s your story too. It’s also for anyone whose ordinary experience of life has ever cracked open, even slightly, leaving you with more questions than the everyday world seems willing to answer. You don’t need a name for what happened to you. You just need somewhere it’s safe to keep looking.

That’s what I’m hoping to offer here. Not proof, not explanation — just paintings made by someone who has been to the edge of things and come back changed, and for anyone else quietly searching for their own way back to wonder.
